Teenager, 18, caught using his mobile phone at the wheel of his £300,000 Rolls Royce Phantom with a registration plate that says '1 ORD'

A teenager has been fined £35 - after being caught using his phone while driving his £300,000 Rolls-Royce Phantom on the motorway.

Aleem Iqbal, whose father runs a luxury car hire business in the Midlands, calls himself 'Lord Aleem' on the internet, where he boasts of his extensive collection of supercars.

The 18-year-old was driving his own Rolls Royce - with the personalised numberplate '1 ORD' - on the M42 when he was seen talking on his phone.

Iqbal, who often boasts of his collection of expensive cars on his Facebook, Twitter and YouTube internet pages, where he posts photographs of himself in black tie alongside snaps of cars, was caught while driving near Birmingham's NEC on February 8.
Solihull Magistrates Court heard that the teenagers, who lives with his family in Solihull, admitted using the phone while driving.
Nichola Purches, prosecuting, said: 'He accepts entirely he was using his mobile phone. He said he was asking his father for directions.'

He was fined £35 and given three points on his licence. He was also ordered to pay £40 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

The £95 costs of the incident are unlikely to trouble Iqbal, whose Facebook page bears a photograph of a bunch of car keys beneath the caption: 'Lambo, Lambo, Lambo and a Rarri'.

Next to another picture of two supercars, he wrote: 'I got 99 problems and choosing which colour Lamborghini Aventador to drive today is one!'

His Twitter account, in the name of 'Lord Aleem', bears the slogan: 'You buy a Ferrari when you want to be somebody, u buy a Lamborghini when you are somebody', and is used to post pictures and boasts about his expensive cars.

In a Facebook post defending his decision to call himself 'Lord Aleem', Iqbal insisted he only used the name to plug his YouTube channel, which focuses on his love of supercars.
He wrote: 'In no way does the name refer to God or me trying to think I’m God.

'I have the number plate '1 ORD' which reads Lord and people seem to get the wrong idea.
'Lord is also a title as is Sir, Dr, Mr, Mrs etc. I hope that clears it up and if doesn’t then I don’t know what else I can say.

'God knows my intentions and only he can judge me.'

Iqbal’s father, Saleem Iqbal, runs Yardley-based Platinum Executive Travel, which offers Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, Ferrari and Bentley models for hire.
Platinum Executive Travel's website boasts that it was the first in the West Midlands to offer the Phantom for hire, with rates starting at £600 a day.

Mr Iqbal said his son, who had been driving his own car and not a company vehicle at the time, was only 18 and had made a 'simple mistake'.
'He was driving his own car and was on his mobile phone, that’s it really,' he said.

'It was short and simple. It could happen to anyone, it could happen to you, me or anyone else. He’s a young man, he’ll learn in time.'
