The Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood, needs urgent prayers and deliverance with the rate at which practitioners are dropping dead.
This is really sad news as the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood, has been thrown into mourning yet again when two practitioners gave up the ghost within hours of each other on the same day, last weekend.
First to kick the bucket was veteran actor, Romanus Uchenna Amuta, who was popular as Natty from the now rested sitcom of the 80s, New Masquerade.
Natty who has been suffering from partial paralyses, and living in complete penury, died in the morning of Saturday, while on the same day, Enugu based Nollywood costumer, Lizzy Ogbodo also died from complications from typhoid fever and malaria.
According to a close friend of Lizzy, actress Ejiro Okurame:

Lizzy's neighbour saw her collapsed body on the stairs to her home in Enugu and rushed her to a hospital but her blood pressure was very high.
She was in coma for 3 days with oxygen before she was taken to another hospital for CT brain test, where doctors were waiting for her to come out from coma before treating her well or do brain surgery till she died by 2am on Saturday morning…
She’s like a sister to me and Mama G; we have been in tears since the incident. She is survived by 3 kids who are currently in the university.
May their souls rest in peace.
