PDP Crisis: Group Makes Case for Muazu

Adamu Muazu, PDP National Chairman
The Conference of Minority Tribes in Nigeria, has called on the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ) and its members to "allow the Adamu Muazu led leadership continue and refrain from unecessarily roc king the boat".
According to a statement signed by group's National Coordinator Comrade Okpokwu Ogenyi, it condemed attempts to paint the PDP Chairman bad light in order to stave away blame of the party's loss while heaping same on him, said the party needed to re-group and prepare for future elections and not fighting.

They commended the Adamu led leadership over its previous efforts to stabilise the party when it took over leadership, as according to them the party was at war but peace was restored through his concerted efforts.
Speaking further the group praised Muazu's refusal to over heat the polity with hate statements and campaigns against Gen. Muhammadu Buhari even when it was at the expense of his job, which is a true sign of

nationalism as this has played a role in ensuring the post - election peace enjoyed by the nation, while querying its responsibility for the party's failure

Taking a swipe at Mrs. Josephine Anenih for calling for Muazu's resignation due to the loss, the group said she "lacks the moral right to criticise the PDP chairman, as under her husband Chief Tony Anenih who was BOT Chairman, the party lost Edo to the then Action Congress of Nigeria ( ACN ) and nobody asked Anenih to resign" thus making it morally wrong for his wife to criticise Muazu for loosing.

Speaking further, it said the party should look inwards to fish out the saboteurs, especially those who are known to have squandered campaign funds and are running helter skelter to cover up their mismanagement of party funds which resulted to the loss of Mr president and other candidates on the ticket of the party and not use Muazu as a diversion to cover their evil acts.

It has also warned that the party ensures it removes all those who have worked for their selfish interest in order to ensure its regenration in forthcoming polls.

"From every indication the mood of the anti muazu elements in PDP suggest a replica of the rebellious era of disloyal hawks who continue to hang around for what they stand to gain and not in the interest of the party".

"We hereby advise them to behave like honourable men though we know it's difficult for these leopards to change their skin but we appeal to them to pretend in the spirit of civilised democracy being ushered into the African continent by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan". It read in part.
