UPDATED Eight-year-old Martin Richard, left, from Dorchester, Massachusetts, was killed as he was standing at the finishing line waiting to give his father, Bill, who was competing in the Boston Marathon, a hug. His six-year-old sister lost a leg in the blast and his mother Denise is in hospital after undergoing brain surgery. Today a candle was lit outside the family home, centre, and the word 'Peace' was written on the pavement - Martin's older brother who was also watching the race was not injured in the blast. Police have now confirmed that at least three people died and 144 were injured in the worst terror atrocity on US soil since 9/11. No one has yet claimed responsibility for the bombings (right) - which occurred yesterday afternoon and struck 12 seconds apart. The FBI announced that they were searching for a man they described as having dark skin, wearing black clothes and a black backpack who tried to gain entry into a restricted area during the marathon.
