I want a connection. I want to be in love, I don’t want to fall for someone because he is a star or because of what he has. I want to fall in love with you because of who you are. Some men come and try to entice me with materials things. You don’t have to be rich to win my world. I would wait for the right man even if it takes a hundred years, after all they say God’s time is the best.”

Taking to her facebook page as usual to spark up some controversy, former governor’s daughter cum attention seeker, Kemi Olunloyo disclosed that she’s had her voice insured for $1million.


“Many of you have never heard my voice unless you’ve met me or heard my Radio Nigeria shows in 2006 or American and Canadian TV and radio. My VOICE is insured for $1 million US dollars. This past week, Cossy Orjiakor insured her boobs for N256 Million nairas. If anything happens to my broadcast voice, I collect N170 million naira. If anything happens to her breasts (which are implants) she gets N256 million naira.Who has the BEST deal?” Kemi posted on her facebook page

Gov. Babangida Awards N20m to Eaglets, NFF

The Governor of Niger State, Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, doled out a total of N20m to the players and the officials of the Golden Eaglets, as well as to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), for winning the FIFA U-17 World Cup for an unprecedented fourth time.

The Talban Mina at a dinner banquet in honour of the team at the Hon. Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre in Minna on November 12, 2013, Tuesday, as part of activities marking his 58th birthday anniversary, said Nigerians should be proud of the Eaglets’ stellar performance in the UAE.

Gov. Aliyu said it was gratifying to note that the team was exemplary throughout the competition and therefore deserved to be celebrated.

“We are very proud of what these youngsters have done in lifting the image of the country through their collective efforts.

“With their performance, these young boys gave us a positive image throughout the world and they showed the resilience of being Nigerians,” Babangida Aliyu said.

The cash gift to be shared as follows: N12m to the players, N5m – to the technical crew, N3m – to the accompanying NFF’s board members and officials. The Governor also advised the NFF to keep the team intact for future challenges.

Gov. Aliyu also confirmed that a plot of land may be granted to each member of the team by request.

“We want you to remain focused and don’t relent in your efforts; and please don’t neglect your education which is very important,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Golden Eaglets have felicitated with Gov. Aliyu on his birthday anniversary praying for God’s guidance in his future endeavours.

”We are very grateful to the Chief Servant. In the Holy Quran, anybody who appreciates others should be appreciated and celebrated and we thank the Chief Servant for this good gesture to us,” said Niger-State born Salihu Ali-Baba who spoke on behalf of the team.

Oluchi Orlandi insults Journalists at show’s premiere

Less than three weeks after Nigerian international model, Oluchi Onweagba-Orlandi launched a series of attacks on Twitter and called her fellow Africans animals, she, on Friday 8 November, re-enacted her saucy side as she insulted a group of journalists who were at the premiere of her new show, Africa’s Next Top Model.

Oluchi, who was the chief hostess at the weekend event held at Pravada Lounge on Victoria Island, Lagos, created an ugly drama as she snubbed the media reps who had asked to be treated well after being made to stand while others were on their seats during the delayed press conference.

It was gathered that the whole drama started after the model, who came far late into the event, caused the organisers to move the earlier scheduled media briefing into the noisy main hall of the night club.
And of course, the journalists were not comfortable with the arrangement considering the boisterous crowd and noise.
After about three questions and her impolite responses, the newsmen stopped asking questions.

Oluchi sensed their coldness and then asked if there were further questions, to which one of the journalists expressed disgust over the humiliation they had been subjected to.

Rather than apologise, Oluchi angrily muttered:
“I am only here to party and not to be answering questions.”

And she walked away leaving the angry journalists in the middle of the club.

When the organizers went to confer with her, she remained adamant.

Even when the whole scenario was reported to the publisher of a fashion and lifestyle magazine, and our correspondent was invited to iron out the matter, Oluchi threw caution to the winds when she told the reporter, “Don’t touch me please,” when she was about to be stopped from walking away for the second time.

“Oluchi should be world class…she should be able to control herself in public no matter how upset she is. It’s called anger management,” said a concerned guest who observed the drama at the event.
It was learnt that Oluchi has a record of bad temperament and is said to be hostile to journalists.

That was what manifested when she threw caution to the winds with her recent outburst on Twitter. Her series on Twitter read:

“I am disgusted. DISGUSTED by human behaviour…Africans be like “no funds no meetings”… MONEY is not the root of evil. “Greedy Humans” are the root of evil… Hopefully I won’t throw up soon. Bunch of inconsiderate animals!!!!…They know price tag of everything and the VALUE of nothing!!!…Incompetent idiots. Ugly souls. Monsters in human forms!…They won’t let me enjoy my beauty sleep!”

And she got a lot of bashing for her coarse tweets.
One Akindele wrote then:

“This girl is just a fool…so because you marry Oyibo now, folks back home are now ‘Africans’? Shame, a Nigerian should be propagating this sort of ignorance.Can’t she just say ‘These guys’ or even be specific? Pope Francis corruption fury: Tie them to a rock and throw them in the sea

Impassioned sermon condemned corruption from those who donated to the church but stole from the state
Pope Francis delivered an impassioned sermon yesterday, during which he quoted a passage from the bible that said some sinners deserve to be tied to a rock and cast into the sea.

The Argentinian religious leader said Christians who donated money to the church but stole from the state were leading a "double life" and were sinners who should be punished.

Quoting from the Gospel of St Luke in the New Testament, he said: “Jesus says 'It would be better for him if a millstone were put around his neck and he be thrown into the sea',” because "where there is deceit, the Spirit of God cannot be".

Without directly mentioning corruption within the Catholic Church, in his sermon he described those involved in corrupt practices as “whitewashed tombs”, explaining that “they appear beautiful from the outside, but inside they are full of dead bones and putrefaction.” He said: "A life based on corruption is varnished putrefaction.”

His sermon came during his daily morning Mass inside Casa Santa Marta, the guest house he has lived in since being elected pontiff in March.

On Friday, he also condemned corruption, asserting parents who earned through bribes or corrupt practices had "lost their dignity", and fed their children "unclean bread".

He said: "Some of you might say: 'But this man only did what everyone does!'. But no, not everyone! Some company administrators, some public administrators, some government administrators… perhaps there are not even very many. But it’s that attitude of the shortcut, of the most comfortable way to earn a living.

"These poor people who have lost their dignity in the habit of bribes take with them not the money they have earned, but only their lack of dignity!"

He compared receiving bribes as "like a drug" as people become "dependent" on the habit of bribes.

Reacting to the successful premiere of UNFORGIVABLE – a movie produced by Dayo Amusa - yoruba movie star Ronke Ojo lamented that Nigerian men are not real.
